After an evening out in London in 2002, rambling conversation led to the creation of a new holiday - Bee Day. Months afterwards, Katie explained what Bee Day was in the email below.
Let's see if I can clear up this Bee Day confusion.
Bee Day is a special day (in September if you're American, October for you Brits) to tell others you love them. Basically, you run around all day giving people little "stings" (this can come in the form of a hug, a little pinch, or a little Bee Day sticker...gotta market somehow or this will never take off). The more "stings" you get, the more BEE-loved you are. We thought September and October would be good months because there are no good holidays in those months in our respective countries. Now, this isn't like Valentine's Day because it's not romantic, it's just love.
Explaining where this idea came from would be a lot harder because I don't actually remember. Let's just say it was destiny. Bee Day was a holiday just waiting to be celebrated and I think we should all be proud to have a hand in it.
LOVE TO YOU ALL!!
Katie
So in celebration of Katie, October 7th is now officially Bee Day!
